Finally Fenced!!

Checking out her new freedom..

Two of my most favorite things in the world.

Taking one last jump in the field!! Click on this pic and you can see serious air!

Today my wonderful husband worked on fencing the backyard in!! We would have loved a vinyl privacy, however, since we are not rich, I am just happy to get the yard fenced. No more tying Allie out from the back door, she now has free roam in the yard. She also graduated to free roam of the house while we are away!!

She is still trying to find a way to her favorite place, the wheat field, oh well! We even played Frisbee and catch for the first time in our own yard! She was always distracted with field there.
Of course we will still play in the park, this is so much better.
With the new backdoor, deck and fenced yard, we finally have a backyard we can actually enjoy. Need to plant and do more in the back, that will take time. Hopefully we can get some warm weather, we did lose a few flowers in the greenhouse since it froze last night. That always is the chance we take living here. I did buy my wonderful hubby a meal and a shake from the diner!
Thank you Mark!!!! Love your grateful wife and Allie....

Back on the Oregon Trail

We took a few days and hit the road again to visit Summer, Trevor, Madi and baby Chase. As always we love to visit and Madi kept us going when Summer and Trevor left for a wedding. We had a blast playing with her until she wore herself out and fell asleep. Chase was very good and sweet, he hardly fussed at all. Madi loved having her picture taken and it was good practice for me with the camera. I think I sent Summer at least a hundred pictures to sort through. On Sunday we went to church for the baby blessing and had a luncheon afterward. We did get some sightseeing in on Saturday afternoon while the Heids went to the wedding reception. They took the kids and we headed west towards Astoria. We made it as far as Rainer and headed over the bridge to Washington. The towns were fun to travel through and we stopped at a harbor along the Columbia River to see the boats. Along there were floating houses which were quite cool I think. Mark said no way, the mosquitos will eat him, I thought it would be fun live there or anywhere along the river. We saw huge logging ships and logging mills along the way. We could see Mt. St Helens, Rainer and Hood, it was a beautiful afternoon to take a drive. On the Washington side we found a Tulip farm, the were some different ones we had never seen. We travelled on the freeway along Vancouver and back into Portland, only getting a lost a few times on the tour! We took a few minutes to drive through Baker, Oregon a very cute and historic town which I really liked, we could live there. Summer and Trevor thanks for your hospitality!!

It was good trip and we look forward to more travels, who knows where we will go next!!

The New Deck Is Done!!

We have always wanted a backdoor and a deck. It just made the backyard easier to access and the house never felt completed. Just need to move the BBQ and enjoy!

Arizona Adventures Slideshow

Arizona Adventures

It was time for another road trip! This time our adventure took us to Surprise, Arizona where Mark baptized Chuck and Shanas oldest son Kylan. It was a beautiful day for us Northerners who found it quite warm, inspite of the locals still wearing jackets.
We watched Brayden play football and got some great shots. Then we went to the baptism where Grandpa Mark got to baptize him and Shane confirmed him. Then that evening Allie had a date at the dog park. Kim has a friend that has a dog just like Allie, so it was a date! Allie was wiped out. On Sunday we met up with Skyler and Kate, then we had a blast playing a game with Shane and Jenny at their house.
They have a cute house and it was fun to see where they live. Then we road tripped to Hurricane where we could relax, do some wash and visit with the parents!
It was a very nice trip.

Four Corners Fun

Is Animal Planet On Yet?? How about some room service here!

We took another road trip, this time to New Mexico to check out the area. Yes, it's true, Mark has been offered a transfer. We haven't made a decision yet, we will by Monday. We stopped at Four Corners and got pictures, of course we had to include Allie in the fun. We stayed in Farmington and drove all over, found some nice area and not so nice. North East into Aztec and Bloomfield is nice farmland with open space. We found a nice new house on a hill in Farmington, it has a nice view and 3/4 acres. Then we tripped over to Hurricane and stayed the day there. Allie travelled really well in her crate while we tripped all over San Juan County.

Allie takes a bow

I've been working with Allie and this is her newest trick. Last week we had Shane come and visit us, we enjoyed having him here and it was a nice surprise when he said he was coming. Thanks for coming up Shane!

2008 in Review

When 2008 started for us, well, actually one of us was asleep! In 2008 we flew out of the Salt Lake Airport in a Blizzard. By the time the plane was
de-iced we were over a hour late to take off. We had a layover in Phoenix which gave us plenty of time to land in North Carolina. We went to bless Shana and Chuck's newest son, Cooper. We had a blast visiting Charleston, Marks mission area and a civil war battlefield. The only regret was there wasn't enough time to see more. While there we got a phone call that church had been cancelled due to another blizzard leaving Tremonton buried! In June our garden got pounded by a huge hail storm and Mark's store where he works moved into the new building. In July we added a new addition to our family, A mini Aussie we named Allie. We bought a new trailer, went camping and in Sept took a road trip to see Trevor, Summer and Madi in Portland. We had fun time seeing the coast, touring the Air Museum where Marks dad served during the war and playing with Madi. In August we saw Kristy off to Alabama to get her Masters Degree!! With the high gas prices we bought Mark a new ride, visited with the Hatches in Idaho, took a few trips to Hurricane to see the parents,
knocked out the back wall in the Kitchen and added French Doors. The deck will be a 2009 project! Hope everyone has a great 2009 filled with some great memories!!

Blizzard Update

Yep it snowed all day today! The power went out for almost 2 hours, while we cooking dinner, so we went outside to shovel, throw snowballs to Allie and visit with other shovelling neighbors. This is what it looked like at 6:00 tonight, yes it's still snowing. We can't sing "Dreaming of a White Christmas" we can sing "Walking in a Winterland"!! We love it, it's true. The forcast just said we might get "Thunder Snow" tonigt. Who knows what we will wake up to.

The Christmas Morning Blizzard

We heard last night we were getting a big storm and I guess the weatherman got it right. We woke up to quite a blizzard. The Dog loved it, she ran and crashed right into a snowbank, got up and did it again. Guess we'll have to bundle up and go out and play with her. Her are a few pics of this mornings blizzard. The dip in the snow at the door is from the dog!

Snowday

Let's Play!

We have had some snow off and on, today was the first big storm of the season. It started last night, we could see the snow amber glow when we went to bed and by morning it was snowing hard with big fluffy flakes! Fun.... Allie loved it, she ran and tried to catch the falling snow and had a great time in the field chasing snowballs. We had the police scanner on and was very glad to be at home today. It was just a perfect day to stay in and chill (or warm up!)

Finally, I got my door!

Yeah turn the heat back on! It's done

There's a big hole in the house and it's cold!!

Staring time, better be sure now!

Before the remodel

I have always wanted a back door and a deck, finally we got her done!! Except for the snow flurries and the wind, it went well. We just need to add the trim and do some touch up to finish it off.
In the spring we'll start on the deck and I can't wait to BBQ and watch the sunsets. Mark says he will stay inside because of the mosquito's, I say he is a wimp. Maybe a screened in porch?? They have them in the south, so why not here. Then we could sit in our rocking chairs and watch the sunsets together. Hint, Hint Mark??
