Caribbean Cruisin!

From the beautiful Hawaiian shores to the beautiful waters of the Mayan Rivera on the Caribbean Sea 10 days later.  Before anyone thinks we won the lottery, sorry to disappoint you, we did not.  However, if we did I would be typing this from another warm tropical paradise, Aztec NM is no tropical paradise.Someone turn the heater on here....please.
Mark earned the trip from long hard hours at work from his company.  Isn't he wonderful!!  We spent 4 full days in a 5 Star Resort south of Cancun nearer to Playa Del Carmen.  What a life, I could get use to that...easily.
So here are the pictorial highlights of our trip, it was very pretty there.  High 70's with 80-90% percent humidity which I could do without, good food, good friends and fun excursions.  The snorkeling was the best! I still have to develop the pics in my underwater camera and get those scanned in.

                                                         I get the bed nearest
                                                         to the veranda
LOVED the bathroom retreat

The rainshower was the best!

Where's my Island Boy, I want a Coconut

Iguanas are all over the area

Sunrise (yes I was up that early)

At the Ek Balam Mayan Ruin Site, very fun to see

The Kings Tomb, this was interesting to learn
The villages were fun to see, wood collecting is a daily task

The clear waters of the Carribean

This young man was quite good singing for tips,
he knew how to pass his hat around for money.
This was at a resturant we ate in a village, very good food

Hawaiian Holidays

Aw after living in the "bread box", moving, a bitter winter, frozen pipes, below zero temps we took a jet plane to the Tropical Paradise aka Hawaii.  The first thing noticed besides all the green was the warm trade winds and light humidity.  I immediately noticed my cough disappeared, imagine that.  Mark was a little disappointed that there wasn't a hula girl to meet him and give him a flower lei.  I bursted his fantasy by telling him that they don't do that anymore, you know a thing called security and money. My favorite was the snorkeling, that was fun.  The fish were beautiful and the water warm.  We will return again, next time Maui and the Big Island.

 This is our picture highlights:

Christmas and snow!

No we didn't have a white Christmas this year, the snow came today and the dogs were thrilled, mostly Allie. The pics are at the beginning of the storm, it is suppose to snow non-stop 24 hours, the dogs will love it!
My snowing day project is painting the kitchen, the turquoise is being replace with a honey yellow  and the red window frames are a navy blue.  So far I really like it, the color brightens up the kitchen.  Pictures to come when it's done.
Cowboy Potatoes to go with our Christmas Turkey

The Turkey on the Smoker, it was good!

The Whimsy House

I have been requested by family and friends to post pictures of our new home and to update the blog!   We are settled in Aztec, New Mexico and though I miss Tremonton and my friends I do love this house much more.  Having only one level is really nice and of course being back in the country is something we always wanted.  The stars at night are amazing and there is deer that we frequently see everyday all around the area and the house.
We have nicknamed the house the "Whimsy House", perhaps you can see why in the pictures.  The house is still a work in progress and there will be some painting done.  The rose color living room and the turquoise kitchen will undergo a color change in the future.  We love the flooring in the home, I always wanted wood floor and no carpet. I love the kitchen, so much room.   Here are the long awaited pictures! (There are a lot of them)
